A bit description about this piece then. First it's a personal piece and it's a way to train myself on painting more complexe stuff and scene. It's been a long time I haven't drawn horses, but I used to draw A LOT of horses. Though it was two years ago I stoped and now I had to calibrate my experience on horse painting, was not that easy.
I've been painting horsemen some times before I did this one but I don't show these not as good but funny pieces. Nobody cares by now, anyway you can't see it. But I'll show you one day and that will be fun. ('cause they're a bit exotic too, you don't see me painting exotic stuff very often do you?) : p
Anyway. This piece was done without using any reference, that's what is fun about it. Otherwise, there is no particular subject, it's training and personal challenging. The universe shown here is very my own, just a scene. Until I'm totally a crazy person I have a huge world inside my head that is pretty organised and complex, that I keep trying to draw since I'm born (without getting it right) and this piece is pretty much the first time I get to put life and this precision into a little piece of this world. Then it pleases me a lot. Gives me some motivation for the next and patata but be sure I'll make some more pieces like this one.
My inspirations are the Romanticists, napoleonic war painters from the 19th century. I used to be very passionated by this at a time and now it's coming back in my expression tons. We'll see what happen.
this is an amazing piece... there is so much feeling here. very nice work, very inspirational. I hope to see future works from the universe in your head!
And now I'm insanely curious about this little headworld of yours.
How long did this take you?
